Historic Ship USS Potomac

Known as the "floating White House," the USS Potomac is a 165-foot-long sailing vessel that was Franklin Delano Roosevelt's presidential yacht until his death in 1945. Fully restored and opened to the public in 1995, today the ship offers docksides tours and historic sailing cruises to thousands of visitors each year. The USS Potomac is currently docked at Jack London Square in Oakland.

Wednesday, Friday and Sunday: 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Cruises and Events

Cruises to different locations in the bay are offered, as well as special event cruises for various holidays.

Guided Tours

Guests can take a 45 minute tour guided by a docent any Wednesday, Friday or Sunday.

    The Potomac Association provides educational information for adults and children of all ages. The tours are led by docents with educational discussions for students, parents and teachers.
  • Do members receive any special discounts?

    There are eight different levels of membership, some of which include discounts on merchandise and entertainment on the ship.
